V-notch Thin Plate Weir

FlowMarque design and manufacture Standard thin plate weirs to ISO 1438.

Three forms are available:
        V-notch (shown here),
        Rectangular notch and
        Full width weir

FlowMarque also supply weir crests separately for affixing to existing weir plates or weir tanks.

CAUTION
ISO 1438 weir plates are not intended for the measurement of flows carrying suspended solids or nutrients.   Its weir tank accumulates sediment and the crest attracts bio-growth.   Daily maintenance may be required.

  • 'Clean' waters - no solids or floating debris
  • Mainly for laboratory use
    Performance and size
  • Smallest  V-angle 20°: 0.2 l/s minimum flow
  • Upper limit for V-angle 90°: 1800 l/s max flow
  • Uncertainty:   u*95(Cd), ~ 1% to 2%
    Construction and accuracy
  • Material: stainless steel grade EN 14401
  • Detachable crest for dressing/maintenance
  • Manufacturing tolerances better than 0.0004m
  • Adjustable wall-mounting flanges
  • Integral datum reference for precise commissioning with 'FM-Apparat'
